I went to Brazil in January of 2004 and decided to take anti-malaria medication on the off-chance that some teetsie fly would want a nibble on me, that happened to have
malaria. Well, about 3 weeks into the trip, I started losing hair by the gobs, which I soon found out was a side effect of the anti-malaria medication! So, fast forward to May 2005.
I happend to find a Nordstrom event going on at my local Nordies. There was a lady, Carole there, who was giving demonstrations on the use of her product line called "Phyto". Carole swore to me that she started using the products the prior November (2004) and that she started working for Phyto because of how great her hair responded to the products.
So Carole gave her pitch and showed me something i already knew, I had lost a lot of hair, especially around the front top of the crown, and in the back. I could tell because my scalp was so visible. But she used her magnifier and had to show me under 10X just how sparse the forest was there! I was pretty skeptical, and having limited funds, very reluctant to really try it. What I liked about her is that she said she had a solution that she would stand behind with a money back guarantee. She even said I could bring empty bottles back if it didn't work.
So, of course I listened, and listened well! I left that day with a bunch of products and started on my merry way. But first, let me give you the background.
About Hair Loss
Hair lives and dies in accordance with a natural cycle, and it is perfectly normal to lose hair. If more than 100 hairs fall out daily, however, the condition should be treated.
The PHYTO Solution: Purify, soothe, and care for the scalp to stimulate the hairbulb area and regenerate growth.
The following products were recommended by Carole for me to use:
- PHYTO Phytocyane Revitalizing Shampoo for Women with Thinning Hair

You need to wet your hair thoroughly and massage into your hair, creating lots of lather. Rinse off, Repeat and leave on a few minutes, comb through your hair, and then rinse again. Afterward I used their conditioner. That's it. Pretty simple! Use a wide tooth comb though.
I used the Phytocyane (listed next) as well every other day after washing and towel drying my hair.
Here's what Phyto says
This shampoo is ideal for use with PHYTOCYANE thinning hair treatment for women. Its combination of plant-based active ingredients restores the vitality of the hair:

- Phytophanre dietary supplements for hair, nails, skin and lashes

This product was easy to use, I just took 2 gelcaps in the morning every day. Jennifer Aniston has been taking these capsules to improve her hair and what a difference she says it makes in the manageability, shine and control of her fine locks!

The capsules strengthens lifeless hair, breaking nails and thinning hair. Carotene (provitamin A) nourishes hair, nails and eyelashes, while wheatgerm oil (vitamin E) protects hair from oxidation. Essential fatty acids help balance and regulate skin, and brewer's yeast (vitamin B) protects and maintains healthy, beautiful hair and nails.
So that's what I started with. Within 2 weeks, I felt little stubbles in my hair, kinda like when you need to shave your legs. Within a month I could easily see the short hairs in front, and for months it just kept going and going.
Update, January 2006.
My hair is still amazing. Hair growth is good, and wow, I do not have any gaps with my hair. I will see if I can find a way to get a picture of it for you.
